Theme: 90-day raw vegan fast
Topic: Juice your wheatgrass benefits
Join us every August for this yearly fast.
Are you going through physical and mental challenges? Do you want deliverance? Do you trust in the Most High? We Challenge You to fast with us for a breakthrough.
We pray that you are able to fast the entire length. If not, we understand that life happens. Whatever sacrifice you are able to give to the Most High is a great start and the right direction toward obedience and deliverance.
WHAT WE ARE FASTING FOR
This fast is to draw closer to the Most High God, and willingly do his will. A lot of us want healing, deliverance, guidance, the Holy Spirit, and knowledge of the Most High. Many of us have the desire to be re-educated in the world, renewed, rejuvenated, and revitalized. Some may fast for repentance or protection and strength. There is no limit to the things you can fast for. We are also fasting against generational curses, demonic strongholds, spirit marriages, soul ties, demonic spirits, family, and the world. We are asking for healing of our body, renewed energy, clear minds, good sleep and so much more.

Wheatgrass
What is Wheatgrass?
Wheatgrass is the young grass grown from the wheat plant grains I talk in detail about the various health benefits of wheatgrass and, how to implement it into your diet.
This is a quick and simple DIY for wheatgrass shots and juice. These are perfect to start adding to your fast now, to boost the immune system, detox, and for a long list of other health benefits.
WHEATGRASS JUICE HEALTH BENEFITS:
Wheatgrass is very nutrient-dense and packed with high levels of vitamins and minerals (including vitamins A, C, and E plus iron, calcium, and more). It also contains the eight essential amino acids (which our bodies can’t produce – so must be ingested). Dr. Ann Whigmore explained how taking wheatgrass is equivalent to having a blood transfusion.
The juice is packed with a whole variety of benefits including being antibacterial, antiseptic, and improving respiratory function. It also contains antioxidants that prevent cell damage and fight off cancer cells and is one of the best sources of living chlorophyll which reduces inflammation, detoxifies, and can aid weight loss. Wheatgrass juice may even help control blood sugar levels and soothe a sore throat.
NOTES FOR WHEATGRASS USE :
When you first start consuming wheatgrass juice, it may cause slightly tummy upset or even side effects like headache, fatigue, and nausea. It is a powerful detox juice and, if your body isn’t used to it (or needs a good detox), then it may take time to get used to.
The best method to combat this when you want to start drinking shots immediately is to start with just a 1/2 shot (30ml) – then slowly increase this. You could also begin by adding the wheatgrass juice to other recipes, so it is ‘diluted’ and in smaller amounts.
It’s best to drink wheatgrass juice in the morning, on an empty stomach, and wait an hour before eating anything. This will help you to avoid nausea.
Wheatgrass juice can be added to juice blends with other fruits and vegetables, within smoothies, as part of salad dressings, and more!
You can also use the juice for non-ingested means including a bath to soothe skin and reduce scarring, soothe bites and scratches, and more.
You can buy wheatgrass powder
There are two different methods for extracting the juice.
THE TWO METHODS FOR WHEATGRASS JUICE:
Wheatgrass juice can be made one of two ways – with a juicer or with a blender.
When using a blender, you have to combine your wheatgrass with a little water.
Ingredients
10.5 oz Fresh wheatgrass - check out my Homegrown wheatgrass DIY with & without soil or alternatively, you can buy it. This will yield about 1 cup / 250 ml of juice.
Suggested Equipment
Juicer -OR-
Blender/Food processor
Instructions
Cut your wheatgrass as low as possible to the root just before you're ready to juice it.
Rinse the wheatgrass (especially if it's not homegrown) and discard any leaves that have turned completely yellow.
If using a juicer:
Pass small bunches of wheatgrass through the juicer. It's possible that the juicer may get jammed once in a while, so remove the pulp manually and then continue. Eventually, you'll be left with all the juice and the small amount of leftover pulp (see the blog post for how to use this).
The Blender Method:
If you don't have a juicer, then fear not because you can still make wheatgrass juice, you'll just need your wheatgrass, a blender, a cup or two of water, and either a nut milk mag or cheesecloth (to drain your juice).
Blend the wheatgrass and water until all the wheatgrass is completely pulverized.
Pass the juice through a nut milk bag (or cheesecloth) to collect the juice. Take care to squeeze out every last drop and get as many nutrients out of the wheatgrass juice as you can.
How to store the juice: You can consume the juice immediately or it can be kept in the fridge for up to a week (although, it will lose nutritional value over time!). I like to keep mine in shot-sized glass vials (60ml) in the fridge. Alternatively, you can freeze portions of 3-4 tablespoons (about 60ml) in a large ice-cube tray and simply thaw one each morning.
1. GREEN HEALING JUICE RECIPE
A delicious healthy drink and is full of hydration.
You’ll need:
Ingredients
2 pounds celery
0.75 pounds cucumber large
1 apple
1.5 ounces ginger
Suggested Equipment
Juicer -OR-
Blende
Instructions
Start by juicing the celery in a jug. Whenever juicing, I like to use organic produce and will often rinse everything before juicing it.
Use the whole stalks and leaves of the whole head. It yielded about 700 ml for me.
Then, juice the cucumber, apple, and ginger. They yielded another 350 ml.
Mix the juices and stir.
Add your wheatgrass.
Enjoy your detox juice! It's best consumed fresh for optimal nutrients. However, it
can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days.
IF USING THE BLENDER METHOD ADD A CUP OF WATER TO YOUR BLENDER AND CHOP THE INGREDIENTS INTO MEDIUM CHUNKS. AND BLEND. STRAIN AFTER BLENDING AND ENJOY.
2. WHEATGRASS LATTE
This deliciously creamy and mega-quick 2 or 3-ingredient recipe is definitely the winner
. You’ll need:
1 cup milk (we love cashew, coconut, or almond)
1 tsp Organic Burst Wheatgrass powder
A few drops of pure stevia or a sweetener of your choice (optional)
Method: Mix milk, monk sugar, and Organic Burst Wheatgrass powder. You can use a spoon but we recommend whisking it with an Aerolatte, and enjoy!
Tip: if using a spoon to mix then try this: first pour a little bit of milk into your glass, then add 1 tsp Wheatgrass and use the spoon to make the paste, after which pour the rest of the milk and stir. When to have: any time of the day (same as above), but especially as a coffee or soda replacement mid-morning or afternoon.
3. IN A SMOOTHIE
Our Wheatgrass goes so well in green smoothies, but feel free to experiment and share your creations with us.
Wheatgrass Mint Choco Chip Smoothie
Ingredients:
1½ cups non-dairy milk (we love almond, coconut, or cashew)
1 cup spinach
1 frozen banana
1 tsp Organic Burst Wheatgrass powder
½ avocado
2 handfuls mint
1 tbsp cacao nibs
Coconut whipped cream (for serving - optional)
Method:
Blend everything (except cacao nibs) in a blender.
Add cacao nibs, and pulse a few times. Transfer the smoothie to a glass.
Serve with coconut whipped cream, and sprinkle more cacao nibs.
When to have:
an energizing snack to help prevent you from reaching for sugary treats
ideal for making the night before for a quick brekkie the next day
light early dinner
4. SUPERCHARGE YOUR GREEN JUICE
Our Wheatgrass goes so well with your favorite green juices! It’s rich in fiber that is a valuable addition to your juice (where the fibers have been removed from the fruit and veggies). Adding fiber to the juice helps slow down the sugars in the juice hitting your liver and digestive tract too quickly.
If you’re getting takeout green juice from a bar - simply mix 1 tsp of Wheatgrass into it.
Alternatively, make your own! Here is an example recipe:
You’ll need:
1 handful of organic spinach⠀
1 organic cucumber
a squeeze of lemon or lime
1/2 organic apple, cored and chopped⠀
1 tsp Organic Burst Wheatgrass
1/4-1/2 cup mineral or filtered water (if need be)
Method:
Add spinach, cucumber, and apple into your juicer, then stir the lemon juice, our Wheatgrass, and water (if need be) into the juice.
When to have:
At least 1 hour after meals (as green juice is alkalizing so you don’t want it to interfere with your digestion)
Between meals, especially in the afternoon to feel the amazing natural buzz.
Tip: go for fresh juices as opposed to bottled - ones because the juice is best consumed within half an hour of juicing.
5. IN A SALAD DRESSING
Give your salad or grilled/sauteed veggies extra superpowers by mixing some of our mega-green Wheatgrass in the dressing.
The simplest way is to mix it with some olive oil, but here is one recipe we love:
Wheatgrass Lime Cilantro Dressing
You will need:
1 cup loosely packed cilantro (coriander), stems removed and roughly chopped
1/2 avocado (or 1/2 cup plain yogurt)
1 teaspoon Organic Burst Wheatgrass
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1/2 lime), more to taste
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cumin
Directions:
Puree all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth.
Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
Notes:
It's best to use organic produce when juicing.
It's best consumed fresh, immediately for optimal nutritional benefits
